Oklahoma Sooners Running Back Core

The Sooners have always been a team who used more than one back. Even with Adrian Peterson you had Allan Patrick who would come in and give Peterson a rest. Coach Stoops has already said that the Sooners will have three or four backs subbing in and out. But the question is who will be the work horse. Who is going to get the most carries and the most playing time? We already know that Brennan Clay, Roy Finch, Brandon Williams, Jonathan Miller, and Dominique Whaley are all gonna get carries.

Many think that it will be Finch getting the start and being the work force because of what little we saw of him last year. In my opinion the start will go to the big back Jonathan Miller who will also be the work horse. Coming in behind Miller will be Finch who is a sophomore. The guy is one of the smallest backs Oklahoma has ever had. Much like Quentin Griffin he is small and fast, and will hide behind the offensive line until a hole opens up. Dominique Whaley is another guy everyone is talking about. I had the chance to tour the Oklahoma campus with Coach Merv Johnson. He kept talking about Whaley, he says that he will have a bigger role in this offense than people expect. Whaleys stats and workout are better than Adrian Peterson expect for the 40 yard dash.

I want to know who you guys think will be the work horse for this offense.

I agree. You have to go with the more experienced and bigger stronger back in my opinion. Thanks for reading and commenting!
